SUMMARY:Volunteer Thank You Night
DESCRIPTION:Following on from the success of past Volunteer Thank You Nights this year the event will be held at the Maryborough Harness Racing Club venue starting at 5.30pm on the 19th of May 2025.  \nWe know our community has more than its fair share of exceptional volunteers! \nEvery year the Central Goldfields Shire\, in partnership with the MVRG\, puts on a ‘Volunteer Thank You Night’ during National Volunteer Week in May to celebrate the magnificent contributions our volunteers make. \nDelicious finger food is provided and the format of the night changes each year\, ranging from guest speakers\, to panel discussions to individual story telling. \nIn 2024 many volunteers took to the microphone and voiced their personal\, moving and humorous stories\, based on their experiences. \nYou could hear a pin drop as these amazing stories unfolded\, conveying the enormous personal rewards and benefits to be gained through volunteering. \nThis year’s event will be held at the Maryborough Harness Racing Club\, starting at 5.30pm on Monday 19th May. \nIt will be a fun night\, focusing on boosting connections between organisations and building relationships across the not-for-profit community. \nPart of the evening will of course include an outline of the exciting recent funding announcement from FRRR that will see an investment of $1 million towards our grass roots not-for-profit groups. \nThere will be a free mini-bus available for those who will requiring transport to and from the Harness Racing Club. \nPlease spread the word and encourage as many volunteers as possible to attend – we know they are very enjoyable and engaging nights! \nWe know from research conducted here and across the nation that a vital component of maintaining a happy and active volunteering community is showing that we appreciate the work they do and that we reward this whenever possible. \nStrong retention of volunteers is essential in a vibrant and healthy community and we need to ensure that Maryborough and surrounds are as welcoming and ‘liveable’ as possible.
